OH MY GOD NOOOOOO!!!! i mean adult gon is sUPER iNTERESTING of a development in terms of gon's character arc and him giving up LIFEFORCE to get revenge on kite's behalf is. so heartbreaking and also such an interesting move storywise but nO it shows gon's lack of self preservation and mOST IMPORTANTLY he's not thinking about killua or milo or pika or leorio or bisky or palm or shoot or knuckle or meleoron or litERALLY ANY OF THE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT HIM he's thinking 'kite's dead' and 'it isn't fair' and 'i want him back' and 'i will do a n y t h i ng' and it's fucking terrifying!! he's not even thinking about the Mission at that point, or... much of any points in that battle. the mission is to stop the King, he's completely focused on Pitou. and he can't accept the loss, he doesn't know how to deal with it he's so yOUNG and he has one thing he knows how to do and doesn't consider the consequences for even a second. it's like, all the worst impulsive traits of a young boy amplified by his power and potential and pain. it hurts me in so m a n y w a y s (but especially. how he treats killua. how even after he's better he knows an apology won't cut it, that he fucked up BIG TIME. how nothing will be the same between them because killua always always always puts gon first but for a second gon didn't he shoved killua aside and neITHER OF THOSE ARE HEALTHY WAYS TO TREAT YOUR FRIEND) (although they WIL L grow and get past it but for now thINGS ARE NOT OK) god the chimera ant arc fuc k s m e up (which is why i cope by coming up with happy dance aus where everyone is blissfully at peace and they're a bIG HAPPY FAMILY)
